Baboon: Cute and comical? Nope, though they "settle down" around tourist and even take free handouts. Wild Baboons are about as different from "city" baboons as a wolf is from Fido. Sharp eyed and keen sensed, baboons are among the hardest animals to hunt. They live in troops and form protective groups around the dominant males. By human standards they seam rather vile and ill tempered, almost constantly stirring up a harangue that can be heard for a mile away. Despite not being “trophies” a big wild and burly “babo” is a true measure of a hunters stalking abilities and shooting skills. Some of the most enjoyable hunting I have ever done was for these Wily vermin. |
